Packet AX.25 BBS

• Frequency:
  • 144.650MHz FM AFSK 1200 baud.
• Antenna:
  • HomeMade VHF 3/4 wave J pole antenna at about 10 meters from ground, connected by RG-213 (50ohm) cable to the shack.
• Radio:
  • VHF Maxon SL70 (SPX-2550NH) modified to operate on 2m. I built the HW programmer for this radio, so if you want information on how to do it, send me an email.As a side note, i needed to adjust all the receiver circuitry, solder a BNC antenna connector, etc.
• Computer:
  • AMD486 100MHz 32MB RAM 540MB HD running Linux 2.4.16 / Debian 2.2rev4.
• Modem/TNC:
  • Thomas Sailer Linux Usermode SoundModem (v0.4) connected to a SB16 ISA soundcard using VOX circuitry for PTT operation. The old Baycom TCM3105 is now retired :) (Right now i'm testing an old OPTI 82C931 ISA card.)
• Network:
  • 3com509 Fast Ethernet III 10baseT 10Mbit/s network cards
• Software:
  • Linux kernel AX.25 TCP/IP stack
